Yeah, I know this isn't very exciting, but how often do you find an abandoned road in the middle of the National Forest? This is actually the road that carried traffic over Brush Mountain before Rt. 460 was opened in the 60's. There's a big difference between this twisty mountain road and and the 4-lane highway that replaced it! The old road is divided into several different sections, Brush Mountain Road is actually one of those sections that is still open to traffic.

This road was actually pretty cool to explore, it's not very long but you can still see the lines on the pavement, and parts of the original guardrail are still standing.
