Agnew to the New Chemistry Building

There's a pretty good tunnel entrance in the Ag Quad. To the right after entering the tunnel is the gated basement of Agnew. Just before the gate to Agnew a slightly lower tunnel crosses the main tunnel. To the right in the lower tunnel is a locked gate to the basement of Saunders. Heading the other direction in the lower tunnel, there's a tight crawl, a right turn, and a dead end where the pipes go through a wall into Seitz. Back in the main tunnel, heading towards the drillfield a little ways is a side tunnel that runs towards Price and Sandy - you have to crawl under some pipes to get to it. It ends in a "T" with an inaccessible tunnel to Price to the left and a small room to the right - there's a steam discharge in this room though, so it isn't the best place to hang out. Soon after this point, the main tunnel has a short set of stairs before it passes underneath the lower part of the drillfield. Around the vicinity of Davidson there is mechanism on the steam lines that will occasionally discharge steam in the middle of the tunnel, but I've walked through the discharge a couple times without getting hurt. Keep in mind though, the steam is at 200+ degrees. Behind Davidson there's a right turn, and then some low pipes that must be crawled under (at this point the steam tunnel passes over the pedestrian tunnel between Davidson and Hahn). On the left hand wall there are small doors into the basement mechanical room of Robeson and the crawlspace of Pamplin. The basements of Davidson and Williams are inaccessible from the tunnel. After a short ways the tunnel gets to be around ten feet tall, and there's a locked door on the right to (I believe) the basement or crawlspace of the front section of Burruss. Looking at the tunnel map, I think this might connect underneath Burruss with the section of tunnel that runs from the other side of the building to Patton and then to McBryde. Cool air blows through the hole in this door, as well as through a manhole in the ceiling (into Burruss's crawlspace). After the door to Burruss, the main tunnel takes a left turn. The steam tunnels get narrower here, and hotter too. The section of tunnel shown on the map as running from behind Burruss to behind McBryde is inaccessible. On the left side of the tunnel there's a pretty decent drop (maybe 15 feet?) to the tunnel running to Derring and the New chemistry Building. The lower tunnel is shorter than the rest of this run. Halfway down it you can see the gated basement of Derring. For most of my time at Virginia Tech, the tunnel ended here. The steam tunnel from here on is newer, and made from pre-cast concrete. There are a couple slight right turns, then a dead end as the steam lines pass through a sub-tunnel to the New Chemistry Building. Back in the main tunnel there's another significant drop between GBJ and Burchard. The air gets a lot cooler near Cowgill... the tunnel goes on for a little ways here, turns right behind Cowgill, and ends as the pipes enter an inaccessible section.
