Greenhouses to Hillcrest

There are two grates providing access to this short section of tunnel, both of which are very much out in the open. There's really not much to say about this stretch of steam tunnel.

After entering via the grate across the street from Litton Reaves (the on that's always spewing steam), there's a short sub-tunnel made from pre-cast concrete, then a ladder up to the main tunnel (and a tight squeeze under an un-insulated steam valve).

From here the tunnel goes left (to near the greenhouses) or right (to near Hillcrest). Going left, there's a short sub-tunnel to McComas, made from pre-cast concrete like a storm drain, that is accessible after climbing over a pipe and through a hole in the tunnel wall. There's also a sub-tunnel to the greenhouses, but it's too small to explore. The main tunnel dead-ends here by the greenhouses, as the steam pipes enter an inaccessible section.

Back around the middle of the main tunnel, there's a sub-tunnel to Litton Reaves, and a ladder up to the second surface grate. When the tunnel approaches Hillcrest, it makes two slight left turns, and a other tunnels fork off to the right. One is chock full of pipes, the other would be passable except for the floor-to-ceiling pipes blocking access to it.

The tunnel gets progressively shorter and more cramped as it approaches the manhole in front of Hillcrest. The foundation wall can be reached with some effort. There's a hole in the wall near the end of the tunnel, where you can look into an empty space beneath one of Hillcrest's stairwells.
